Overall Vision
Originality Technique ImpactNow this is a detailed photo of a DR1.
The blue sky makes a perfect background for this historic plane.
Painted in the colors of "La petit rouge" it is nicely honoring the ace of aces Manfred von Richthofen.
The diagonal composition both helps you capture the entire aircraft well. Movement on the propeller is a very nice detail and creates a bit of "life" in this image.
The idea to paint a plane red came to the pilot long before he flew the DR1 yet he is most famed for the red DR1 and our first thought when we see one is aptly "The Red Baron"
This photo made me grin a bit cause I had just put down the red barons auto biography after having finished it when I noticed this photo. Talk about coincidence.
