Nice shot! Where do they park the crawlers after they've transported the shuttles? Do they just leave them outside of the fence like that? Or do they shift them somewhere else later on? I've never thought about this before! =P

There are actually several "crawler "parksites" located within proximity to the "crawlerway. There is a "parksite" located mid-way down the crawlerway, a "parksite" located on the North side of the VAB and also inside the VAB highbays. The crawler will be relocated to one of these locations prioir to launch activities commencing.

I don't know if I'll be working that day or not...But if I'm not working, I'll definitely try to make it out there for the launch.

Thank you Lizz! These opportunities are few and far between even for those of us that work supporting the space program. I have been fortunate in the fact that my current assignment at KSC involves Public Affairs and Special Events which sometimes allows me limited accesses to opportunities like this. I feel I must capture what images I can now because it will be over soon.
